Pathological Intoxication

So, people have always claimed that they didn't know what they were doing because of the al -al -al- al -alcohol. But, there are some cases were the alcohol did make you do it. LOL .... I know some people might not agree but I think they have a point when the "pathological intoxication" defense is used.

So, I copied the following excerpt from here. http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/whats-the-difference-between-pathological-intoxica-99238.html

In general, Voluntary Intoxication is you deciding to drink alcoholic beverages until you are drunk (intoxicated). You know what you are doing, and you know from past experience that you are getting intoxicated. This type of intoxication is not a defense to criminal prosecution. Pathological Intoxication is you never having had a drink of an alcoholic beverage, and someone serves you your first drink and without knowing the effects it will have on you, you are immediately intoxicated. This type of intoxication may be a defense to criminal prosecution, if all of the factors necessary for the defense are established. If you are charged with a crime and believe that this has occurred in your case, you need to discuss this with your lawyer as soon as possible. Good luck.
