Millville, NJ - A local woman who complained Monday that her boyfriend wouldn't give her back $700 ended up telling police to forget about it because the investigation was "ruining her buzz."Police were sent at 9:26 a.m. to the 600 block of Dock Street to speak to Stephanie Hubart, who said she had given the money to her boyfriend "yesterday before they started drinking." He offered her $60 when she asked for the money back, according to a police report.
"While speaking to Stephanie, she was hard to understand due to her level of intoxication and was still drinking alcohol upon my arrival," Officer Antonio Delfinado reported. "She further stated odd discussions about Easter eggs."
Her boyfriend told police he was given only $200 and that most of it was spent on shopping and eating out. He said Hubart brought up the matter Monday morning as the alcohol supply was running out.
"I spoke with Stephanie once again but this time I could not understand anything she was saying due to her slurred speech," the officer wrote. "She further advised me not to worry about it and that I am ruining her buzz."
